Notes: 1) All tests are in accordance with IEC 61109 unless otherwise specified.

2) All units installed on a 220-230 kV system should be assembled with one corona ring at the conductor end of the insulator.

3) All units installed on a 345 kV or higher system should be assembled with a corona ring on both ends of the insulator.

      4) Clevis and tongue fittings are standard for insulators these are less than 66KV; Socket and ball fittings are standard

for insulators between 66KV to 500KV. For other fittings, use the fitting codes as following. Specify the top fitting first.

For example, for a clevis top and eye bottom, add the suffix CE instead of SB or CT. If the same fitting is on both ends

just specify the desired fitting with a single letter suffix. For example, if you want a clevis on both ends, just add a C

suffix instead of CT or SB. 

 

 

 

 

Configuration of Fittings

 

1.1 Configuration of End-Fittings

 

The end-fittings shown above are in accordance with IEC 61466-1 and are available to comply with ANSI specifications as well.

 

1.2 CORONA RINGS -are necessary on systems that operate at or above 220 kV. For 220-230 kV lines one corona ring is required on the conductor end of the insulator. For systems that operate at 345 kV and above, a corona ring is required on both ends of the insulator.
